What is Boxercise?
Boxercise is based on the training concepts of boxing. This includes boxing movements typically in a circuit style class along with other types of workouts. It is a high intensity interval class (HIIT). The concept became popular worldwide as a fitness class having started in 1992 in the UK (BOXERCISEUK).

About the classes
Classes consist of skipping, boxing on punch bags and pairing up with pads and gloves. The workouts incorporate the whole body with squats, lunges, box jumps, ball slams, battle rope and much more. Core work is focused on with flexibility and improved mobility movements also an important part. It is a fantastic blend, always great fun and always a great way to meet new people.
About me
My name is Ciaran Quinn. I am head instructor at Qfit Galway. I have been successfully running my fitness brand for the past 4 years helping people creating new visions and helping them grow personally. I have been involved in customer service industry all my life where customer satisfaction has been the most important outcome. I am a certified fitness instructor , kettlebell instructor and registered Boxercise Instructor. I have a Training and education diploma from NUIG . I run a very friendly, welcoming, fun and goals orientated fitness centre. I have a very friendly and welcoming approach having worked with groups, individuals, GAA teams, children and senior citizens.

Frequently asked questions
No, boxercise classes are suitable for all levels from complete beginner to advanced.
If you own a pair bring them by all means only you will be using them. We supply gloves that are cleaned thoroughly and sanitized after each class. No sharing of gloves or any equipment during the class.
No boxing experience needed what soever. Boxercise is based on the basic concepts of boxing training that you will learn and practice in every class.
Yes absolutely. We insist on face coverings to be worn entering and exiting the building. Hands to be sanitized at entry point to the class room and at various stages throughout the session. Room is well ventilated. Only one person permitted on the stair case, in the bathrooms and in the hallway at one time. Physical distancing is practiced at all times, workout pods in place for safety. No sharing of exercise equipment and all equipment sanitised between classes. We allow 15/20 minutes between classes to allow for this. Contact tracing paperwork filled out before class and we insist that if anybody is feeling unwell prior to our classes they stay at home and contact GP.

Class Procedures and Gym Protocols
- Face masks must be worn on entering and exiting the building
- Only one person permitted on the stairs, in the bathrooms and in the hallway at once.
- All members will be required to sanitize their hands upon arrival
- Temperature checks will be taken and recorded
- You will have to fill out a contact tracing questionnaire before class begins
- Please arrive to class in a timely manner and be mindful of social distancing outside
- All equipment and class areas will be sanitized between classes
- Gloves will be available at the Gym
